Chris Weston

Chris is a local professional nature photographer/writer and co-founder of Animals on the Edge, a not-for-profit program of Living Earth to support endangered mammals in various countries.  We are very pleased to have Chris as our annual STAR NIGHT speaker on 1st May 2014.  Chris’ proceeds from the evening will go to his charity which was established together with American film maker/actor Leo Grillo.

Our annual STAR NIGHT is open to the public and will appeal to both photographers as well as those interested in wildlife protection.

Tony Worobiec

Tony lives near Wareham, Dorset and has won awards for photography in the UK and internationally, and has had work exhibited in London’s Barbican Gallery , Bradford’s National Museum of Photography and The Fox Talbot Museum.  He is a founder member of the prestigious Arena Group of Photographers.  His work has appeared in many photographic magazines both here in the UK and in America and he writes regularly on black and white darkroom techniques. More recently he has developed an expertise in digital imaging, exploring both monochrome and colour techniques and has been invited to write extended articles for specialist digital photographic magazines such as Black & White Photography, Practical Photography, Total Digital Photography, Digital Photo Digital Camera and Photo Techniques USA.

 We were thrilled we have Tony Worobiec as the Shaftesbury Camera Club’s Star Night speaker in April 2013.

Jeremy Walker

Jeremy lives locally in North Dorset with many years experience specialising in high quality landscape and location photography from around the world for use by advertising, design and corporate clients.  A belief in ‘quality is everything’, a meticulous approach and a far-reaching vision and style serve Jeremy and his clients well.

Jeremy was our Shaftesbury Camera Club’s Star Night speaker in April 2012 when the Royal British Legion Hall was filled to capacity.

David Boag

David is a local photographer living in Blandford with a passion for the natural world and was our guest speaker at our meeting in November 2012 when he described his life as a wildlife photographer.

He has recently launched an affordable interactive tutorial  DVD entitled the “Natural Focus” which covers the whole subject of wild life photography including clear animated explanations of the technical basics plus many practical tips on creativity, animal life, habitat and plants.  He has also published twelve books and still travels extensively on both assignments and as a cruise ship speaker.   You can read more about his visit to us here.
