Shaftesbury Camera Club Data Protection Policy

Shaftesbury Camera Club holds contact information of;

1.  Members

2.  Judges and Guest Speakers

3.  Any other party connected with the operations of the Club

The information is held in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations 2018 and, as such, the Club is a Data Controller within the United Kingdom.  Consent for the Club to hold relevant personal data is implied by membership of the Club or by association with the Club to facilitate its activities, subject to the Data Protection Policy of the Club being publicly available on the website of the Club.  Personal data is used only for the legitimate interests of the Club, with this including the names of authors of prints and projected digital images being passed to others in relation to competition entries.

Any person or party wishing to verify their personal data held by the Club may apply by email to privacy@shaftesburycameraclub.org.uk.

Any person or party may also request the Club to delete all of their personal data held by the Club.  In such circumstances, however, any such Members will not be able to participate in any competitions of the Club and will not receive any Newsletters or other email contact from the Club.

Relevant personal data of Members and others is held by Committee Members.  The personal data consists of:

  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Telephone Numbers
  • Email Addresses

Historical archives are maintained by the Club.  However, personal data of Members is removed within two years (or earlier by request) of anyone ceasing to be a Member of the Club.
