Photograph of the Year 2019
Members can enter up to 2 prints and/or 2 PDIs in this end-of-season competition. Entries may have been shown before in this year’s Shuffell competition or be entirely new. Unusually, we had the same number of prints as PDIs, 26 of each which made for a very comfortable number of images for our judge, John Tilsley, to assess.
He started with the prints holding back those he would later mark with a 9 or above of which there were ten. He then sorted these leaving just three with a score of 10. The final and most difficult task was of course to rank these 1st, 2nd and 3rd. First place went to an atmospheric wet night shot of David H’s local fish and chip shop.
After the break, PDIs were addressed in a similar manner with Andy H winning the 1st place with his photograph of a spiral staircase as well as gaining 3rd place as well for his seascape.
Congratulations to all the winners who will receive the trophies at our Social and AGM evening in one months time. Thanks to John for his excellent analysis and marking and for providing us with a very enjoyable evening.
