Joe’s work has been featured in many international publications, books, and by the Royal Photographic Society and the Photographic Society of South Africa.  He is also a Getty images contributor.


18th June: Z9___ Leo Rich: “The Idle Rich Rambles on”
Leo Rich joined his first camera club over forty years ago and has amassed a considerable expertise both as a photographer and judge at home and abroad. He is also a past president of the PAGB to which our club is affiliated.

All meetings at 7:00 for 7:30 start.  Meetings usually last for 1~2 hours with short break just before 8pm (stay logged in!).  Watch for details on posts below and changes by email.  

Log-in details for Zoom meetings will be emailed to members one or two days ahead so please check you have these to hand on each Thursday.

If you think you might be interested in joining our friendly club, please contact us by email, phone or web form now.  We can then include you in our plans.  We cater for all levels – beginners to very advanced/professional.

All  physical meetings have been cancelled.  Our new 2020-2021 season traditionally starts in September each year but may be later.

Brian Pettit lives near Poole, Dorset and works closely with wild life reservations and zoos in Zimbabwe and the UK as well as globally.  He has a wealth of expertise and knowledge about wildlife large and small and how to best photograph them, projecting them in full wide screen high definition using the very latest high definition Canon HD projector.

We were very pleased to welcome Brian as our Starnight speaker in May 2014.


Tony Worobiec

Tony lives near Wareham, Dorset and has won awards for photography in the UK and internationally, and has had work exhibited in London’s Barbican Gallery , Bradford’s National Museum of Photography and The Fox Talbot Museum.  He is a founder member of the prestigious Arena Group of Photographers.  His work has appeared in many photographic magazines both here in the UK and in America and he writes regularly on black and white darkroom techniques. More recently he has developed an expertise in digital imaging, exploring both monochrome and colour techniques and has been invited to write extended articles for specialist digital photographic magazines such as Black & White Photography, Practical Photography, Total Digital Photography, Digital Photo Digital Camera and Photo Techniques USA.

 We were thrilled we have Tony Worobiec as the Shaftesbury Camera Club’s Star Night speaker in April 2013.


Jeremy Walker

Jeremy lives locally in North Dorset with many years experience specialising in high quality landscape and location photography from around the world for use by advertising, design and corporate clients.  A belief in ‘quality is everything’, a meticulous approach and a far-reaching vision and style serve Jeremy and his clients well.

Jeremy was our Shaftesbury Camera Club’s Star Night speaker in April 2012 when the Royal British Legion Hall was filled to capacity.


David Boag

David is a local photographer living in Blandford with a passion for the natural world and was our guest speaker at our meeting in November 2012 when he described his life as a wildlife photographer.

He has recently launched an affordable interactive tutorial  DVD entitled the “Natural Focus” which covers the whole subject of wild life photography including clear animated explanations of the technical basics plus many practical tips on creativity, animal life, habitat and plants.  He has also published twelve books and still travels extensively on both assignments and as a cruise ship speaker.   You can read more about his visit to us here.

David has a new website at www.davidnoton.com where you can find not only his galleries but also his weekly blog and Wendy’s Wanderings which give a great insight to their life in search of new image opportunities.
