NEXT MEETING …    ALL THIS SEASONS MEETINGS ARE CANCELLED.

All meetings (including End-of-Year AGM in May) are cancelled.  Our new 2020-2021 season traditionally starts in September each year but may be earlier or later depending on events.  Please keep an eye on our website for latest news and plans (including any web-based projects/activities during the current crisis).

We hope to reschedule some missed meetings for later in the year and to hold our Annual Exhibition later this year.  We hope to be able to offer one or two activities via the internet.  We will keep members and potential new members informed via email and on the website.

POTENTIAL NEW MEMBERS…
If you think you might be interested in joining our friendly club once this covid-19 crisis is over, please contact us by email, phone or web form now.  We can then include you in our plans for when life gets closer back to normal.  We cater for all levels – beginners to very advanced/professional.

Our annual program includes some practical or interactive evenings which address a particular aspect of photography linked to a competition topic or perhaps a photographic visit. However some members may appreciate a few additional sessions on topics such as camera settings, photographic software, printing and mounting, etc. We have two ways to arrange this without incurring the extra expense of hiring the hall for what is likely to be a smaller group of members:-

 1) We have the use of a small side room on normal club nights where we can arrange one-to-one or small group sessions little earlier than the normal start time when club equipment such as laptops and projectors are not otherwise required. If you are interested, please ask or email Chris outlining what you would like to cover and he will be very happy to sort something out.

 2) For any topics that require more time and of interest to a larger number of people, Helen and Chris are happy to host a session or two near Buckhorn Weston where virtually everything can be to hand to tackle most questions, including of course a projector, laptop, Google/wifi, tea and coffee. As Buckhorn Weston is 8 miles, or 15 minutes by car along the A30, it would probably be best to meet during daylight hours, perhaps on a Saturday. So if there is interest in topics such as Photoshop, please let Chris know.

We should be able to address most topics, even if we have to do a bit of preparation first!  However Brian T has given us a list of some for either beginners or a more advanced level covering both digital cameras and computers.  You can find this under the Workshop menu above or click here.

From time to time, we also add a few notes to “Pixels”, our “virtual workshop” on the web so do take a look and remember suggestions for other topics are always very welcome.

You can always email Chris via info@shaftesburycameraclub.org.uk or talk to him at the club.
