First AGM

Shaftesbury Camera Club celebrated their first successful season on 12th May 2011.  The formal business included the Chairman’s Report in which David Lampard summarised the magnificent progress made in membership growth, a successful and varied programme, equipment, and a healthy balance sheet.  We end the year with nearly £400 which allows us to plan for next season’s programme and equipment needs with confidence.  Bill Norman summarised next season’s programme which will include some new features and we are also planning a Star Night when we hope to attract a good number of visitors.  The programme will shortly be available on the web for download.

The Draft Constitution and the Competition Rules were quickly approved and will be accessible via the web site.  Membership and Guest Fees will remain at their current levels.   The various roles, including those participating as Committee members, were re-elected en-bloc: Andy Newton will shadow Chris Wildey as PDI Print Secretary to provide another operator for projector and software.  Kelvin Shuffell was re-appointed as the Club’s Auditor.

After the formalities, we enjoyed refreshments and wine, when we learnt that both the wine and wine glasses had also been generously donated.  Kelvin Shuffell presented certificates for Photographer of the Year and Photograph of the Year for each of our classes.  Brian Tarling also managed to spend some time with a few members with their cameras.
